The 5K Foundation Fun Run/Walk is becoming a tradition for the residents of Franklin Park. Participants look forward to joining their friends and neighbors in friendly competition.
The race kicks off on Saturday, September 17 at 9:00am on Addison Street in front of lovely North Park. And it finishes behind the facility in the Park.
This is our 9th year! Once again join us in meeting your fitness goals. Participants will make their way through the neighborhood streets of Franklin Park. We also look forward to residents coming out and cheering the racers on as they achieve their goals.
Immediately following the race kids 11 years and under run around the North Park walking path in the Kids Mini Mile Race. Kids race while the 5K finishers cheer them on. Parents enjoy seeing the kids’ faces as the cross the finish line and receive their medal.
The fee for the race is $20, race day $25. All participants receive racer apparel and post-race refreshments. Also, prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and everyone receives a medal when they cross the finish line.
We encourage everyone to come out and cheer on their family, friends, and neighbors!
All proceeds generated by the 5K Foundation Fun Run/Walk and the Kids Mini Mile support the Parks Foundation of Franklin Park and its goals. The Parks Foundation mission is identifying and responding to recreation opportunities that enhance programs, parks and facilities through community leadership and support.
All registration can be taken at the Community Center until race day. We will have race day registration. Registration is available at the all Park District facilities and online at www.fpparks.org.
