AARP Smart Driver

AGE: 50 Years & Up

AARP Smart Driver is the nation’s first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers 50+. In addition to award-winning classroom and online courses, AARP Smart Driver is one of the best examples of AARP at the local level. Those who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate and may qualify for a discount on their auto insurance premium. Please bring AARP membership card and current driver’s license to class.

Medicare Made Clear

AGE: 45 Years & Up

This class is designed for individuals who currently have Medicare or will be eligible for Medicare in the near future. This in-depth seminar will provide a review of original Medicare, what it does and doesn’t cover, and the coverage options that are available for Medicare beneficiaries. A United Healthcare licensed representative will run the presentation and present products offered by United Healthcare Medicare Solutions.

Knitting, Crocheting & Needlepoint Club

AGE: 50 Years & Up

This free program is designed for anyone who would like to learn how to snit, needlepoint or crochet. Two members have volunteered to bring extra supplies and give instructions to those who may need them.

Days: First and Third Tuesday of the month

First Aid, CPR/AED Training – Adult & Child plus Infant 

AGE: 16 Years & Up

This course includes CRP and training in using an automated external defibrillator (AED) on an adult and child victim of sudden cardiac arrest. This course will cover breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, infants, and children, as well as first aid topics such as sudden illness, heat and cold emergencies, and basic precautions to prevent disease transmission. Certification is good for 2 years.

Dog Obedience

AGE: Owners: 12 Years & Up, Dog Ages: 3 Months & Up

With a positive approach to training, our experienced instructor helps you and your family members enhance your relationship with the canine in your home. Dogs should be at lease three months old with proof of shoots. Please bring proof of shots the first day of class. Beginners please do not bring your dogs to the first class. Please note the first class is only 1 hour long.

Big Band Dance

Ages: 18 Years & Up

Dance all afternoon as the big band era comes alive at North Park! Everyone is invited to dance to big band classics. Enjoy your favorite dance style such as swing, fox trot, cha-cha and more! The Park District provides raffles, soft drinks, coffee and a cash bar.
