With two ice surfaces, the Main and Studio Arena, there is always something happening. Consider the Franklin Park Ice Arena your home for all ice sports. Our staff is eager to provide the highest quality service to make your visit to the Franklin Park Ice Arena memorable. Our Skating School program is conducted in accordance with the national standards established by the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). This program allows you to progress at your own rate, moving up in class levels as you build on fundamentals and advance to more difficult skating maneuvers. At the Franklin Park Ice Arena, our mission is to provide a thorough skating education in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. With 42 years of experience beneath our blades, we have introduced thousands of participants to the sport of ice-skating. Learning to skate is fun for all ages and provides you with a lifetime of recreational enjoyment. New sessions begin four times throughout the year: September, December, March, and June. The Franklin Park Speed Skating Club trains skaters to compete locally, regionally, and nationally in the exciting sport of Short Track Speed Skating. When you begin, you will train under the guidance of expert coaches who prepare you to compete locally in the “novice division.” As you advance you will participate in international and pre-Olympic events. The club is open to skaters of all ability and experience levels below the age of 21. We can teach you the basics of speed skating while you wear your figure or hockey skates. Hockey Programs
Youth Hockey
The Franklin Park Ice Arena offers a wide variety of hockey programs for all ages. The Panther Hockey Program participates in the North West Hockey League during both the Fall/Winter season and spring. Our instructional hockey program, Panther Paws, is designed to teach the basics. A progressive program designed for all youth groups, from three to fifteen years of age. Camps and Clinics are offered throughout the season. Adult Open Hockey
The Franklin Park Ice Arena is offering Adult Open Hockey on Wednesdays & Fridays 9:20-10:50 am. The fee is only $10 and full gear is required. Goalies skate for free. Check www.fpice.com for updates/schedule changes and our summer hours.

Whether it’s a birthday party or a hockey game, broomball on the Studio Arena or your entire school on the big ice; when you choose our arena, you can count on quality.Contact the Franklin Park Ice Arena at 847-671-4268 for information on ice slots currently available for rent. Bookings are on a first come basis over the phone with a Visa/Mastercard payment. Find out how your group can obtain an ice contract.
For your convenience, our office is open everyday from 9 am-8 pm. Ice rentals that begin after 8:00 pm must be paid in full when making the reservation. All other rentals require a non-refundable/non-movable deposit of 50%. Deposits on ice rentals will only be refunded (minus $5 administrative fee) if the ice is sold.

Studio Arena 60′ x 80′
Our smaller ice surface is just right for groups of 50 or less. Skating parties for your friends, church socials, scouts, clubs, or corporate groups are always popular and well attended. The Studio Arena is the prefect size for the game Broomball, and makes a unique setting for your older child’s (ages 9 through teen) next birthday party!
Studio Ice Time: $150/hour, all times, everyday
Party Room: $50/hour
Room Rental Policy: The room is only available with Studio Rentals. Maximum 2.5 hours in the room for the first hour of Studio ice rented. One additional hour in the room for each additional hour of Studio Ice rented. Please remember that your time in the room or on the ice equals your start time. If you need extra time for set, please plan accordingly.

Starr Blades Synchronized Skating Team
If you have mastered the skating basics and can demonstrate good precision and balance along with speed, the Starr Blades could be for you! This group of eight to 32 skaters executes various moves in unison, using forward and backward skating steps. Speed and accuracy are emphasized as the formations are performed. Pro Shop
The Orch’s Pro Shop is located in the lobby of the Franklin Park Ice Arena. Due to current limitations, please email orchsproshop@gmail.com to schedule an appointment for your skating/hockey needs. This full service pro shop is stocked with a variety of hockey equipment and skating supplies. If you have questions regarding equipment or sizing, stop by and talk to the owner, Mr. Steve Orchard. For your convenience our Concession Stand is open daily offering a wide variety of snacks, drinks and food items. Stop by and enjoy a hot dog, popcorn or a Coke. Our Concession stand is Monday, Wednesday- Friday from 5-8pm and on weekends Saturday from 8am-9pm and Sunday 8am-7pm. Hours of operation vary in the summer months.
