Introducing Cody Nelson!
Cody Nelson is the new Athletics and Facility Manager for the Park District of Franklin Park. He oversees all Athletic programs, leagues, rentals and the Community Center. He graduated from Illinois State University where he studied Recreation Management.
Cody grew up in Lake Zurich where he played a variety of sports throughout middle school and high school. He started in the recreation field six years ago with the Foglia YMCA where he worked athletics, summer camps and special events. During his time at Illinois State University, Cody interned at El Paso Parks and Recreation where he gained the knowledge and experience to become a manager.
Outside of work, Cody loves to play or watch any type of sport. He mainly watches the Chicago Bears and Bulls, despite the rough seasons. Cody enjoys staying active and spending time with friends and family.
Cody is looking forward to meeting more of Franklin Park’s residents. His goal is to keep growing and improving athletics while making sure the facility is in top shape.
