Remote Learning Day Camp Adds Second Semester Dates

The Park District of Franklin Park understood the hardships placed on the community this year with schooling. We are extremely proud to have formed a partnership with Franklin Park School District 84 in offering Remote Learning Day Camp. This much needed childcare is offered at a drastically low cost for District 84 students due to a generous financial subsidy provided by the School District.

Dates for the second semester of the school year have been added. After winter break, camp will resume on January 4 and run through May 21. Students in Grades 2-8 can attend any day Monday through Friday. Campers must attend a minimum of two days a week. We also offer an extended care option.

Students conduct their e-learning over at our North Park facility where staff is on hand to assist. Please note that camp follows D84’s schedule including the district’s tentative last day.

Campers received pizza for lunch from D84 PTA.

The program has been a success and students have adjusted to their routine. Remote Learning Day Camp was even featured on WGN Morning News’ E-Learning Honor Roll.

“A typical day for camp is mostly virtual classes.” said Program Manager Sabrina Rivera. “During breaks we love to have the kids get active with games, activities and crafts. Our goal is for the kids to have a comfortable environment and find a balance to take breaks to reduce stress.”

We would like to thank our staff for their assistance and all teachers for their teaching efforts during this unusual time.
