The Park District of Franklin Park has formed new cooperative youth athletics leagues with the Village of Schiller Park, Rosemont Park District, Leyden Township Recreation Department and Norridge Park District. The Leyden Leagues begin this fall with Flag Football starting in September and Volleyball starting in October.
Flag Football is open for Grades 3-8 and Volleyball for Grades 5-8. Each agency will form teams and play in weekly games at rotating locations. Teams will practice once a week at their home location to learn fundamentals. Equal playing time is enforced for all participants. The Leyden Leagues are an opportunity for all participants to play and develop.
The participating agencies are dedicated to providing safe, competitive league play. Safety protocols will be followed as recommended by the CDC and IDPH. Masks are currently required for participating in the Leyden Leagues. League information can be found on the Park District of Franklin Park’s website.
