Get up and get moving with the Park District’s fall races! Our Kids Mini Mile race is the perfect way for children 11 and under to stay active and get moving. This mini race is approximately 3.2 laps around our North Park Walking Path. Medals and T-shirts will be given to each participant. The 5K Foundation Run/Walk is a community race hosted by the Parks Foundation of Franklin Park. The race starts and ends at North Park, located at 10040 Addison in Franklin Park. Our course received its certification through the USA Track & Field Organization, a nationally accredited organization. The race is 3.1 miles.

What is the 5K Foundation Fun Run/Walk?
The 5K Foundation Fun Run/Walk is a community race hosted by the Park Foundation and Park District of Franklin Park. The race starts and ends at North Park, 10040 Addison in Franklin Park. Our race is a 3.1 mile USATF accredited course. The Kids Mini Mile is a great way for our youth to stay active and get moving. The kids run a complete mile around the walking path at North Park while the finishers of the 5K cheer them on to achieve their goal.
Who can participate?
For the 5K, walkers and runners of all ages and abilities are welcome! Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children under the age of 12 can participate in the Kids Mini Mile.
General race information
To register, submit a registration form and payment to the Park District of Franklin Park, 9560 Franklin Avenue. You may register in person, online, over the phone at 847-455-2852, or by fax at 847-455-9053. See our website, fpparks.org. Registration is $20/person (resident) $25/person (non-resident) and $10 for the Kids Mini Mile. Each participant must submit a registration form. Early registration is recommended, but you are welcome to register the day of the race for $25.
All participants will receive racer apparel and post-race refreshments. Also, prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and everyone receives a medal when they cross the finish line. An adult must accompany runners under 12 years old, and everyone can come out and cheer on their family, friends, and neighbors!
Who does the Run/Walk benefit?
Proceeds from the race go to the Park Foundation of Franklin Park, which works toward expanding recreation opportunities in Franklin Park through community leadership and support.
