Plug into Play!

Now that the playgrounds reopened, it’s time to Plug into Play! Unplug Illinois was developed by the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA) to encourage people to take advantage of the recreation opportunities provided by their local parks and recreation agencies.

With July being National Parks and Recreation Month, it’s important to highlight the many benefits of parks and recreation. One of those benefits is play, which is a concept we focus on here at the Park District of Franklin Park. We are strong supporters of Child-Led Play and incorporate it into all of our programming.

This month, we want to see where you play! We encourage you to take a photo at your favorite park and tag us in it on Facebook and Instagram. With restrictions being loosened in Illinois, there’s more opportunities to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits of the outdoors. Whether it’s on the playground or another activity at the park, it’s time to unplug and play!
