A new year (and new decade) is coming! If you have a New Years resolution or are looking to try a new activity, the Park District of Franklin Park has plenty of options. Health and wellness is a pillar of parks and recreation and we strive to offer programs that will help you meet your health goals. Let’s stay active in 2020!

Fitness Center Memberships

The Community Center’s Fitness Center offers both a cardio and weight room, Open Gym for basketball and walking, and AFFORDABLE rates! Prospective members are welcome to tour the Fitness Center. Fitness Programs

In addition to the Fitness Center, we also offer various Group Fitness Programs at the Community Center and North Park. Our experienced instructors guide you through the ins and outs of these workouts and how they benefit your body. Programs for those 15 & older include Zumba, Total Body Fitness, Dance Fitness and more! Visit here for the full list of classes.


Aquatic Programs

Aquatic exercise is a calorie torching workout with many benefits. We continue to work with Mannheim Middle School to offer indoor aquatic programs during the winter. You can add variety to your workout by registering for Adult Aquasize or Adult Open Swim (both classes Ages 18 & older). For more information on these programs, visit here. Men’s Basketball League

If you’re looking to get a good run in, round up your squad and get ready for our Men’s Basketball League! With an 11 game regular season and single elimination tournament, you will keep active until the weather warms up. Teams must be 18 and older, have uniforms and play at least once a week. Managers meeting is at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 15. Located at the Community Center. For more information, visit here or contact Dan at 847-455-2852.


I*N*T*L* (It’s Never Too Late)

If you’re a teen or adult who wishes you would have learned to play hockey years ago, this program is made for you! Adult hockey clinics will be offered on Thursday evenings. Clinics will be on the Studio Ice with the final class on the Main Ice. Try something new in 2020! For more information contact the Franklin Park Ice Arena at 847-671-4268.


Adult Hockey League

We are offering two types of adult leagues this year; a Draft League (Original 6) and Team Entry League. Draft league requires individual registration and an evaluation to be placed on a team. All teams are created based on parity. Team Entry League takes full teams at the B/C level. There are 3 sessions of each league throughout the season and both leagues play 10-12 game seasons with playoffs and approximately 1 game per week. For more information, visit hereor contact the Ice Arena at 847-671-4268

Proof of USA Hockey Insurance is required for all players at time of registration. 


Adult Open Hockey

The Franklin Park Ice Arena offers Open Hockey to adults 18 years and older all season long. Weekly 90 minutes sessions are available Wednesday and Friday mornings 9:20-10:50 am. Women’s Only Open Hockey, Tuesday mornings 9:10-10:40 am. Full gear is required. Check www.fpice.com for full schedule and changes. Goalies skate for FREE!
